SUMMARY: Bass Reeves was a former slave who became a U.S. Deputy Marshal. He worked hard bringing in criminals and was respected and feared for over three decades.  Even though there were people who did not like the idea of a black lawman, Mr. Reeves excelled at his job and was feared by lawless.  This is definitely a good read.

HOW I WOULD USE THIS BOOK AS A TEACHER:  I would use this book to educate my students about Bass Reeves.
